Automated Target Generator - ATG9100
ATG9100
The ATG9100 is a reflective target generator intended to be used in conjunction with 24 GHz automotive speed cameras that use CW, FMCW, or stepped-frequency waveforms. It will receive a signal from the speed camera, provide programmable time delay and Doppler shift, then re-radiate the signal back to the camera. Delays can be programmed from a minimum insertion delay of 64 nsec to a maximum exceeding 1 usec in steps of 2.5 nsec. Complex Doppler waveforms can be downloaded to the ATG and played back at rates up to 100kSPS. An integrated RF converter allows the ATG to operate from 24.0 to 24.25 GHz with a maximum instantaneous bandwidth of 100 MHz. Optimal bandwidth performance is traded off against minimum insertion delay time, with greater delay for wider bandwidth operation.

About the Firmware and Software
ATG9100 Controller
The instrument is Ethernet enabled, SCPI compatible and can be programmed in a variety of ways.

The ATG 9100 ships with a C# .NET 2.0 GUI application (shown at left) that allows exercising all of the instruments capabilities through a simple visual interface. If you need to write your own program, a C# .DLL is also included that provides a very easy to use API for controlling the instrument. Finally, you can control the instrument using the text based SCPI protocol over Ethernet using any programming language. The firmware supports building native complex tables given the bounding parameters or an external complex table generated by a program such as MatLab can also be downloaded from a file directly into dynamic memory.
